We are seeking an enthusiastic and technically skilled IDA Digital Technician to support practical, skills‑based learning. You will work closely with teaching staff to train and assess students, while managing and maintaining technical equipment to ensure a safe, efficient learning environment. The role is key to the Media curriculum, providing reliable access to industry‑standard resources, minimising disruption, and supporting high‑quality, employer‑aligned learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Support lecturing staff in delivering competence‑based skills aligned with standards set by external bodies, including industry‑led organisations and awarding bodies.
- Establish, monitor, and assess work experience/placement activities in realistic work environments.
- Train, demonstrate, assess, and support students enrolled in competence‑based or skills‑based learning programmes.
- Oversee the maintenance of learning resources and equipment used within the learning programme, reporting any faults or required repairs to the relevant technician or manager.
Qualifications
- Degree in a related field or a Level 3 qualification or be working towards English and Maths GCSE grade 4/C or above or equivalent – Essential
- A commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role
- To hold a Basic Skills Qualification – Desirable
Experience
- Current knowledge and/or experience of one or more fields of Media Production.
- In depth knowledge of NLE Software (Preferably Adobe Suite).
- Experience in a range of Adobe software.
- Experience with a range of modern super 35mm digital cameras – Desirable
Knowledge & Skills
- Current knowledge of potential issues in the relevant industry that may impact on curriculum delivery.
- Knowledge of career opportunities for 16‑18 and 19+ students in industry.
- Good oral and written communication skills with a capacity to deal effectively with staff, students, parents, employers and others.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
