The Role

Middlesbrough College is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Hourly Paid Lecturer in Sport to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across our sport provision. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of sports professionals, combining practical and theoretical teaching to equip learners with the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for further study and successful careers within the industry. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment that inspires students and supports outstanding achievement in Sport.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the individual needs, interests and abilities of learners.
- Monitor learner progress, provide constructive feedback and implement appropriate support to help students achieve their full potential.
- Maintain accurate student records and comply with College, awarding body and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop the Sport curriculum and contribute to recruitment, enrichment and student engagement activities.

Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher status, or willingness to work towards a teaching qualification.
- Relevant Degree qualification, or equivalent.
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
Experience
- Current knowledge and/or experience of teaching within Sport.
- Understanding of current issues and developments within the Sport sector.
- Knowledge of career pathways and progression opportunities within Sport.
- Experience supporting learners aged 16-18 and adults to achieve positive outcomes.
- Experience delivering engaging learning experiences in either education or an industry setting.
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent sport industry knowledge and practice.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively and create a positive learning environment.
- Confidence in using digital technologies and learning platforms to enhance teaching and learning.
