We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable catering professional with strong communication and organisational skills to join Middlesbrough College as a Lecturer in Catering & Hospitality. In this rewarding role, you will play a key part in shaping the next generation of catering professionals by delivering engaging, practical lessons and supporting learners to develop the skills and confidence needed for a successful career in the industry. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of all students.
  • Employ a variety of teaching techniques and resources consistent with best practices, specific content knowledge, the physical limitations of the space provided, and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  • Plan and deliver a suitable Assessment Programme ensuring marked work meets Middlesbrough College Standards.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by Middlesbrough College and any statutory regulators including but not limited to Awarding Bodies, Funding Bodies and / or Government Departments.
  • Implement all College policies and procedures governing student life and conduct.

Qualifications

  • To be a qualified Teacher or willing to work towards.
  • GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • To hold a relevant Catering qualification.

Experience

  • Relevant professional experience in the field of Catering – Essential.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and/or experience of teaching in one or more areas of Catering – Desirable.
  • An awareness of current challenges and opportunities within the Catering sector that may influence curriculum development.

Knowledge & Skill

  • Good oral and written communication skills with a capacity to deal effectively with staff, students, parents, employers and others.
  • To have good time management and organisational skills.
  • Suitable level of proficiency in ICT and understanding of its application to Teaching, Learning and Assessment.
  • Ability to deal promptly and effectively with inappropriate behaviour in the classroom.
