The Role

We are seeking an experienced Audiovisual (AV) Industry Expert to deliver the AV Networking module as part of our Level 6 AV Technology Top-Up Degree. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable industry professional to share their expertise with the next generation of AV specialists. The role involves delivering one hour of teaching per week, with sessions taking place on Wednesday or Thursday evenings (to be agreed). If you have strong industry experience in AV networking and a passion for teaching, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
  • Create an online environment that is conducive to learning and is developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interests of all students.
  • Employ a variety of teaching techniques and resources consistent with best practices, specific content knowledge, the physical limitations of the space provided, and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student group involved.
  • Plan and deliver a suitable Assessment Programme ensuring marked work meets Middlesbrough College Gold Standards.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by Middlesbrough College and any statutory regulators including but not limited to Awarding Bodies, Funding Bodies and / or Government Departments.

Qualifications

  • L6 Audio Visual qualification or relevant experience in IP based AV Networking.
  • Occupational competence in Audiovisual Technology.
  • Teaching qualification or willing working towards.
  • Grade A-C or 4 and above in Maths and English (or equivalent) or willing to work towards.

Experience

  • Extensive industry knowledge and understanding of Integrated Audiovisual Networking – Essential.
  • Experience of Teaching and Delivering online sessions – Desirable.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Good oral and written communication skills with a capacity to deal effectively with staff, students, employers and others.
  • To have good time management and organisational skills.
  • Able to prepare written and visual teaching materials including the effective use of Information Learning Technology e.g., Virtual Learning Environment or willing to learn.
  • Suitable level of proficiency in ICT and understanding of its application to Teaching, Learning and Assessment – Desirable.
