Middlesbrough College is seeking an Instructor Demonstrator Assessor in Catering, where you will support and develop learners across a range of catering programmes. In this hands-on role, you will train, assess and guide students in workshops and real working environments, helping them build the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed for success in the industry. We are looking for an experienced catering professional who is organised, a strong communicator, and passionate about supporting learners to achieve high standards and progress in their careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Train, demonstrate, assess, and support students enrolled in competence-based or skills-based learning programmes.
- Assist individual students/trainees in developing their personalised learning plans to achieve their objectives and meet externally defined standards.
- Always ensure adherence to safe working practices.
- Oversee the maintenance of learning resources and equipment used within the learning programme, reporting any faults or required repairs to the relevant technician or manager.
- Assist in providing guidance to students participating in the learning programmes, including conducting one-to-one tutorials.
Qualifications
- Level 3 Catering qualification.
- Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English or equivalent.
- A commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role.
Experience
- Up-to-date knowledge and hands-on experience in Catering practice.
- Aware of current and emerging issues within the Catering industry that may influence curriculum delivery.
- Knowledge and/or experience of career pathways in Catering for learners aged 16–18 and adults aged 19 and over.
