Salary: Spot Salary up to £34,225 per annum

Annual Leave: 30 days per annum plus bank holidays

Contractual hours: 37 hours per week

Basis: Full time, Fixed term, Maternity cover up to 12 months

Pension: NEST

The Role

We are looking for a dedicated Tutor/Assessor to join our Adult Education team within the Faculty of Health, Care and Business. In this role, you will design and deliver engaging learning programmes and assessments across a range of subject areas, including Health Care, Counselling, and Childcare & Education. You will play a key part in supporting learners to achieve their qualifications, working closely with employers and inspiring individuals to overcome challenges and reach their goals. This role may involve delivery across both our Middlesbrough and Newcastle sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, conduct and participate in induction and initial assessment of learners to identify realistic learning priorities and, where applicable, do this in liaison with the employer, to develop individual learning plans and agree realistic completion targets for offsite courses.
  • Planning, Delivery and Assessment of Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours to successfully achieve the course criteria and wider curriculum skills needs, in line with the course specifications and Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP).
  • Support and deliver assessing/teaching and learning within our Northeast centres and in places of employment in agreement with your line manager.
  • Provide information, advice and guidance to learners and employers to promote learning and timely achievement of the agreed learning aims and objectives.
  • Plan and support the learner to successfully achieve their Summative Assessment Portfolios in a timely manner.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • A minimum of Level 3 professional qualification in Health or Childcare.
  • L3 Assessor awards or equivalent - Essential
  • Grade C/4 or higher in Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications).
  • Verifier awards or equivalent (or a willingness to work towards obtaining these).
  • Teaching Qualification or willing work towards at least L3 AET as a minimum.
  • Driving license
