The Role
Are you passionate about supporting the development of the future Health and Care workforce? We are looking for a dedicated Health & Care Assessor to join our growing apprenticeship team, supporting learners across the region to achieve their qualifications and develop the skills they need to thrive in the workplace. Due to continued growth in our apprenticeship provision, including the introduction of a new Foundation Apprenticeship programme and increasing demand from our key employer partner, TEWV NHS, this role offers an exciting opportunity to support learners undertaking both the Senior Healthcare Support Worker Level 3 Apprenticeship and our newly established Foundation Apprenticeship programme. Working closely with employers, learners and colleagues, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality assessment, support and guidance, including conducting workplace observations across a wide geographical area extending as far as Scarborough. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with employers, stakeholders, and external agencies to support learner recruitment and programme growth.
- Conduct learner enrolments, inductions, and initial assessments to identify individual learning needs and starting points.
- Assess learners' occupational competence, knowledge, skills, and behaviours in line with awarding organisation and apprenticeship standards.
- Manage a caseload of learners, ensuring timely progress, achievement, and completion.
- Ensure all assessment activities comply with funding regulations, apprenticeship requirements, awarding body standards, and organisational policies.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in the relevant vocational discipline.
- Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent Functional Skills qualifications.
- Must hold or be willing to work towards TAQA, CAVA, A1 Assessor Award, or equivalent assessor qualification.
Experience
- Relevant occupational experience within the vocational sector.
- Experience supporting, training, coaching, mentoring, or developing others.
- Proven ability to achieve performance targets and deadlines.
- Experience working with diverse learner groups.
- Experience delivering apprenticeship programmes.
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to motivate and inspire learners to achieve their goals.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
Additional Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Willingness to travel to employer premises and learner locations.
- Flexibility to work across multiple locations and adjust working hours where required.
