Job Title: Curriculum Team Leader – Heath & Care

Department: Nursing and Midwifery

Contract: Full Time, Fixed Term (12 months)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Abatement: 864 hours per annum (abatement for the role of Curriculum Leader will be discussed at interview).

Salary: £40,742 -£47,983 per annum

Annual Leave: 45 days per annum plus statutory Bank Holidays

Pension: Teacher’s Pension Scheme

Middlesbrough College is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Curriculum Team Leader to provide academic leadership and operational management within our Health & Social Care provision. This is an exciting opportunity to influence curriculum development, drive outstanding teaching, learning and assessment, and support both staff and students to achieve their full potential. Working closely with senior leaders, you will play a key role in quality improvement, staff development, curriculum planning, and the continued success of our Health & Social Care programmes. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide academic leadership and operational management for the Health & Social Care curriculum area.
  • Lead and drive outstanding Teaching, Learning and Assessment, including lesson observations and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support, motivate and line manage curriculum staff, including performance management, development and induction of new team members.
  • Work with senior leaders to develop and enhance curriculum provision, ensuring high-quality outcomes for learners.
  • Monitor student progress, achievement and curriculum performance, using data to drive continuous improvement and success.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification at Degree level.
  • Qualified Teacher Status, or willingness to commence an appropriate teaching qualification upon appointment.
  • Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards achieving them.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining up-to-date professional knowledge.

Experience

  • Current relevant experience and/or knowledge within Health & Social Care.
  • Experience of teaching within Further Education, Secondary Education, or a professional industry environment.
  • Proven track record of successful teaching and/or management performance.
  • Experience using data and quality processes to support learner achievement and curriculum improvement.
  • Experience working collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, support and develop staff.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding Teaching, Learning and Assessment.
  • Proficiency in ICT and educational technologies to enhance learning delivery.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with students, colleagues, parents, employers and external partners.
