Salary: £46,200 – £54,329 per annum

Annual Leave: 36 days per annum plus statutory Bank Holidays

The Role

We are seeking an ambitious and experienced leader to join Middlesbrough College as an Associate Director of Curriculum & Quality. This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving the planning, delivery and quality of a dynamic and responsive curriculum that supports outstanding learner outcomes. You will lead, inspire and manage academic teams to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, ensuring students develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed for success in work and life. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping curriculum intent, maintaining high standards, and leading quality improvement across their area. This post will specifically oversee one of the curriculum areas within the faculty, covering Health, Business, Childcare and Education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong academic leadership and management across curriculum teams
  • Lead the development and delivery of innovative, employer-responsive curriculum.
  • Drive high standards in teaching, learning, assessment and student experience
  • Monitor performance and implement improvement strategies to meet key performance measures.
  • Manage curriculum planning, staffing and timetabling effectively.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes including self-assessment and quality improvement planning.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Qualified teacher with substantial and successful teaching experience.
  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Evidence of continued professional development. (Desirable) Management qualification. (Desirable) Assessor/Internal Verification qualifications.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
  • High level of IT competence and data analysis capability.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance within the FE sector.

Experience

  • Proven experience of working with quality procedures and improvement processes within FE.
  • Experience of managing curriculum performance and outcomes.
  • Experience of working with college data systems and processes.
  • Demonstrable experience of innovation and curriculum development.
