The Business Administration Apprentice will provide high-quality administrative support to the Health & Social Care department, contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the department. Working closely with staff across the team, the post holder will assist with a variety of tasks including data entry, record management, preparation of documentation, handling enquiries, and supporting day-to-day office functions. This apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity to develop strong administrative, organisational, and communication skills within a fast-paced Health & Social Care environment. Through hands-on experience, training, and mentorship, the apprentice will gain a valuable understanding of departmental processes, support systems, and the wider responsibilities involved in delivering high-quality education and services within the sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out accurate data input and assist with preparing reports.
  • Handle incoming telephone calls and other communications, ensuring messages are passed on promptly and professionally.
  • Manage general filing duties, including organising both electronic and paper-based correspondence for the Department.
  • Support staff with the preparation of learning materials.
  • Maintain and update Department notice boards.
  • Assist with enrolment activities during key periods.
  • Provide support in welcoming and receiving visitors to the Department.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • At least 3 GCSEs, including Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • A commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Good personal presentation skills.
