Middlemore has been retained by a national energy business entering a pivotal phase of growth and transformation. Following the creation of a new Corporate Affairs division, they are seeking to appoint an Interim Head of Marketing to lead a refreshed marketing function and help shape how the organisation communicates with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders across the UK energy landscape.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a purpose-led energy organisation focused on energy transition, renewables, and the future of connected energy. The newly formed Corporate Affairs department brings together Marketing, Communications, Public Affairs, and Policy Engagement under one strategic umbrella, with a mandate to strengthen the business’s external voice and deepen engagement with industry stakeholders.
The Head of Marketing will lead a small, capable team and play a key role in maturing the department, embedding true energy-sector insight, and delivering visible, high-impact marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a marketing strategy that positions the business as a trusted, forward-thinking voice in the energy sector.
- Lead on brand, marketing, and events programmes — including industry roundtables, parliamentary receptions, and other strategic stakeholder engagements.
- Partner with Corporate Affairs, Policy, and Commercial teams to ensure marketing activity supports both reputation and business outcomes.
- Oversee development of thought leadership, brochures, and digital content that showcase innovation and smart grid resilience projects.
- Drive customer and supplier engagement through integrated campaigns, newsletters, and events.
- Contribute to the 2026 brand refresh and EVP communication rollout across internal and external audiences.
- Support reputation enhancement and awareness initiatives that demystify smart metering and strengthen relationships with customers, regulators, and suppliers.
Candidate Profile
- Senior marketing experience within the energy sector.
- Strong understanding of the energy sector, renewable energy, or supply-side market dynamics.
- Proven success in developing campaigns and events that engage commercial and policy audiences.
