Middlemore are delighted to be partnering exclusively with True Potential, a leading UK Financial Services organisation, to appoint their new Head of Talent & Development. This is a pivotal leadership role within the People function, responsible for shaping and delivering the organisation’s talent, leadership, learning, and capability agenda. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the business has the leadership capability, succession pipelines, and workforce skills required to deliver its strategic objectives.

True Potential provides financial advice, investment solutions, and technology-enabled wealth management services to over 500,000 clients across the UK. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact within a high-growth, people-focused Financial Services organisation.

The Opportunity

  • Talent, Leadership & Capability
    • Develop and deliver a talent strategy aligned to business priorities and future capability needs.
    • Lead succession planning, talent reviews, and leadership development programmes.
    • Design and deliver initiatives for emerging leaders and high-potential talent.
    • Build and embed a scalable, enterprise-wide talent development approach in a greenfield environment.
  • Resourcing
    • Provide strategic oversight of the Resourcing function.
    • Lead and develop the Resourcing team, ensuring best-practice hiring and an exceptional candidate experience.
    • Build talent pipelines and workforce planning approaches that support future growth and transformation.
  • Learning & Development
    • Lead the organisation-wide learning strategy, including professional, technical, and regulatory development.
    • Oversee the design and delivery of scalable, modern learning solutions.
    • Ensure effective governance of mandatory training and professional qualifications.
  • Stakeholder Leadership & Continuous Improvement
    • Partner with senior leaders to identify capability gaps and development opportunities.
    • Act as a trusted advisor on leadership effectiveness, organisational capability, and culture.
    • Manage external providers, budgets, and programme delivery.
    • Use data and insights to evaluate impact and drive continuous improvement.

About you

You will be an experienced Talent & Development leader with a proven track record of delivering organisation-wide talent, leadership, and capability strategies within complex and transformational environments. You'll bring:

  • Significant experience in Talent Management, Learning & Development, Leadership Development, or Organisational Development.
  • A strong track record of designing and delivering talent and leadership frameworks.
  • Experience leading recruitment or resourcing functions.
  • Proven experience building a Talent & Development strategy in a greenfield or evolving environment.
  • A hands-on/roll sleeves up approach.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with credibility at senior and executive level.
  • Experience within a regulated environment, ideally Financial Services.
