Middlemore are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to take ownership of a high-volume French payroll within a dynamic and fast-paced international environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a payroll professional who thrives on stakeholder engagement, operational excellence, and driving commercial value across payroll operations.
You will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations for France, covering approximately 1,000 employees, while managing one direct report. You will also work closely as part of a collaborative UK payroll team based in London and report into the international payroll director.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee the full-cycle French payroll for circa 1,000 employees
- Line manage and support the development of one direct report
- Work collaboratively with the wider UK payroll team to ensure alignment and best practice
- Utilise ADP GlobalView and Workday HRIS to process and manage payroll data
- Ensure payroll compliance with French legislation, tax, and regulatory requirements
- Partner with senior stakeholders across HR, Finance, and the wider business
- Drive payroll-related commercial initiatives and process improvements
- Support audits, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Act as the subject matter expert for French payroll queries and escalations
- Proven experience managing French payroll in a high-volume environment
- Experience managing or mentoring team members
- Strong working knowledge of ADP GlobalView and Workday
- Fluent in French and English (written and spoken)
- Experience working with and influencing senior stakeholders
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to drive efficiencies and improvements
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
