A fast-growing, technology-forward financial services business is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to own the production of statutory accounts, manage the general ledger, and drive operational excellence across the finance function. What You'll Own:

  • Statutory accounts production - owning the end-to-end process, not just reviewing it
  • General ledger management - ensuring accuracy, controls, and timely close
  • Tax & VAT compliance - managing filings and liaising with advisors
  • Process improvement - identifying opportunities for automation (AI, Claude, better systems)
  • Team development - managing AP, expenses, and transactional finance professionals
  • Collaboration - working closely with senior finance colleagues on management reporting and technical accounting queries

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience & Background:
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of operational finance ideally progressed through GL, AP, or transactional roles
  • Financial services, brokerage, or FX background beneficial
  • Understanding of margin calls, derivatives accounting, broker statements, and cash flow dynamics
  • Experience in small-to-medium finance teams
