Middlemore are currently partnering with a boutique Wealth Management firm to help support the appointment of a Head of Risk & Compliance to manage our clients Risk and Compliance function. The role will be responsible for providing an effective 2nd line compliance, financial crime and risk management framework. This will be a senior management position with SMF4, SMF10, SMF16 and SMF17 responsibility.

The role will be a strategic advisor to the CEO and other members of the Executive and business unit heads. You’ll design and implement risk and compliance strategy aligned to business strategy and risk appetite whilst providing assurance to relevant Group Boards, Risk, and Audit Committees and other key stakeholders.

You’ll lead, shape and develop the compliance and risk teams and the individuals within it; ensuring that all activities remain aligned to the needs and strategies of the business and that a coherent succession plan is in place. You’ll be responsible for developing the Group Risk and Compliance board packs and present to the relevant boards on a regular basis.

The ideal candidate:

  • You will have proven leadership experience and a desire to push your career forward in a growing business.
  • Previous experience as a Head of Risk and Compliance in wealth or asset management or, as a minimum, Senior Risk Officer who has managed the risk and compliance function for at least 3 years.
  • Previous responsibility as MLRO.
  • Has developed the SMCR regime and working practices.
  • Experience of working directly with regulatory bodies.

Salary between £160-200k + attractive bonus structure.
