Head of Employee Relations

Middlemore has been retained to appoint a Head of Employee Relations for a highly successful and ambitious international Financial Services organisation.

This is a rare opportunity to lead the employee relations agenda within a fast-paced, high-performance business where HR is expected to operate as a genuine strategic partner. Working closely with senior leaders and HR Business Partners, you will become the trusted expert for complex, sensitive and business-critical employee relations matters, providing pragmatic advice and commercially balanced solutions.

You will focus on the organisation's most complex and high-risk cases, partnering with senior stakeholders to navigate challenging situations while balancing legal risk, commercial outcomes and employee experience. Alongside case management, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of employee relations across the organisation through policy development, manager coaching, leadership capability and continuous improvement initiatives.

We're looking for someone who

• Has significant in-house Employee Relations leadership experience within an international, financial services environment.
• Combines strong employment law knowledge with excellent judgement and pragmatism.
• Is comfortable advising senior executives on sensitive and high-profile matters.
• Enjoys building capability through coaching, influencing and developing leaders.
• Thrives in a fast-moving, performance-focused culture where responsiveness and credibility are highly valued.

This role is office-based five days per week and would suit someone who enjoys working closely with leaders and being highly visible within the business.
