Middlemore have been retained to appoint an experienced Senior Compensation and Benefits Consultant for a prominent Financial Services organisation, based in Manchester. The successful candidate will report into the Director of HR Operations and will be accountable for the technical and commercial delivery of company compensation and benefit frameworks ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal and company control framework. This role spans multiple geographies across the UK, France, Italy, Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg, and Belgium. As the subject matter expert in this field, you will be able to build engaging relationships with multiple stakeholders across the business.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Compensation: Collaborate with the U.S. Compensation team to apply the company’s job evaluation, salary survey and benchmarking methodology (currently Willis Towers Watson Global Grading System) ensuring real time ownership of data. Partner with SVP Human Resources, to develop annual salary ranges including configuring Workday salary grades. Proactively use internal and external data to identify market and economic trends that could impact talent attraction and retention, ensuring timely communication of findings. Manage and deliver the reward cycle effectively, collaborating with the US Compensation team, local HRBPs and business leaders, while educating them on Workday system usage and standard reporting as needed. Conduct appropriate governance and compliance checks across all compensation areas, ensuring adherence to in-country legislation and regulatory frameworks. Ensure data integrity for all compensation elements countable for data integrity of all elements of compensation, undertaking appropriate audits and resolving issues. Compliance with all regulatory, legal and company control frameworks and meet statutory reporting requirements ensuring real time data transparency. Work with Finance to ensure all financial reporting, accruals and spend are 100% accurate.
- Benefits: Effective oversight and administration of the current benefits schemes, ensuring compliance with all local regulatory, legal and company control frameworks. Project management of the annual renewal cycles of all benefit programmes and benefit self-selection. In partnership with the Director of HR Operations ensure the benefit offering remains market competitive and value for money. Collaborate with the Payroll Operations Lead to verify and transfer data accurately and support the resolution of benefit related payroll inquiries and discrepancies. Maintain accurate benefit records and documentation.
- MI, Metrics & Data: Lead on all HR metrics and data reporting. Develop and maintain dashboards that provide real-time visibility into critical business metrics. Identify areas of improvement in data collection, analysis, and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Work with the US HR analytics team to develop software tools and systems that support data collection, analysis, and reporting. Partner with key HR stakeholder to define and develop appropriate reports including but not limited to Board reported metrics, headcount, and people costs. Accountable for accuracy of data and reporting. Identify and mitigate risks associated with data management and reporting processes.
What experience will you need:
- Strong knowledge of compensation frameworks, salary surveys, and benchmarking methodologies, particularly in relation to global systems like the Willis Towers Watson Global Grading System (WTWGGF).
- Proven experience in managing the reward cycle and ensuring compliance with local and international compensation regulations.
- Experience in collective bargaining agreements. Must have some degree of European experience.
- Ideally will be a strong project manager.
