Middlemore has been exclusively retained to appoint the first Head of Recruitment for an international financial services organisation. This is a business with exceptionally high standards, ambitious growth plans and a leadership team that expects excellence.
This appointment will lead the creation and evolution of a small, high-performing, direct sourcing team, partnering with senior leaders across the business to attract exceptional talent in an increasingly competitive market. The HR function is lean, commercial and exceptionally capable. Expectations are demanding, but so are the opportunities. The business invests heavily in its people, rewards high performance and provides genuine career acceleration for those who consistently deliver.
The successful individual will combine strategic thinking with a willingness to remain close to delivery. You’ll be equally comfortable shaping long-term talent acquisition strategy as you are personally leading executive searches, influencing stakeholders and maintaining visibility of the key recruitment activity across your team.
You’ll also play a pivotal role in modernising the recruitment function through optimisation of Workday, recruitment technology and AI-enabled sourcing solutions, translating best practice into scalable, commercially effective outcomes within a sophisticated SME environment.
We’re looking for an experienced Recruitment leader who brings:
- A proven track record leading Recruitment within Insurance, Asset Management, Private Equity or Banking.
- Strong executive hiring experience with credibility operating at Board and Executive Committee level.
- Experience building or transforming high-performing in-house direct sourcing functions.
- Commercial acumen, presence and gravitas, coupled with an authentic and engaging leadership style.
- Experience leveraging HRIS platforms, recruitment technology and AI to improve hiring effectiveness and candidate experience.
- A hands-on approach and genuine enjoyment of operating both strategically and operationally.
The role is based in London and requires five days per week in the office.
