The Opportunity
Hybrid role of field based on sites and office based out of Durham. The business is a rapidly expanding developer of onshore renewable energy solutions, well financed and growing organically and through acquisition.
The Role
This is an important technical role within the business, interlinking different processes and departments with key decision making. You are involved at initial project/site assessment stage, providing technical assistance and risk assessment, through to project development (design/approvals/risks/budgets) and project delivery with suppliers, consultants, contractors and local authorities at tender stage through construction. Maintain technical data, undertake studies of sites, identify constraints, provide reports. Review of consultants work. Assessment of drainage, aviation, geospatial data, access etc, dealing with local authorities and other stakeholders to name but a few of the duties in this role.
The Person
A degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline is ideally sought, being a chartered engineer or on the way to this status. You might be working for a consultancy, a main contractor, a developer or even on the other side of the fence, for a local authority ratifying developers proposal. You must be prepared to travel extensively when required to new sites and be based commutable to Durham. Civil engineering experience is a must with preference sought for highways, roads, bridges and structures experience. We would like to see prior experience of design and build contracts and NEC (or equivalent), experience of public engagement initiatives and experience of dealing with local authorities and statutory stakeholders. Minimum 3 yearsβ experience in a similar position.
