THE COMPANY: We are one of the largest independent foodservice wholesalers in the UK and have a strong reputation in the market for the consistent quality of service and products to the foodservice and catering sector. We have developed from servicing a loyal account base regionally to almost National coverage and our comprehensive range includes frozen, ambient and chilled lines. This diverse range allows us to provide a one-stop solution to clients in both the profit and cost sector including pubs, clubs, restaurants, hotels, education and healthcare. We pride ourselves on being an excellent company to work for which is mirrored in the stability of our sales force. Due to continued growth of our business through acquisition, we are seeking to add to our successful sales team a further strong foodservice industry sales professional.
THE ROLE: As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for a portfolio of between 150-200 foodservice accounts. You will have full responsibility for cross-selling and upselling to this account base in addition to undertaking new business to add further clients. Most of the success in this role will be through effective menu planning and food costing at head chef or contract catering manager level. You will be based from home and be responsible for your own journey plan but will also be expected to be a team player and work towards overall company promotions and objectives in addition to your own targets.
THE APPLICANT: The successful candidate will be a strong sales professional with experience within the foodservice sector. Candidates are preferred to have sales experience working for a foodservice manufacturer or foodservice wholesaler. Candidates with a background as a head chef or with a catering qualification with field sales experience in other vertical sectors will also be considered. Candidates with experience selling catering equipment or catering disposables to foodservice clients will also be considered. Candidates must be strong team players, work effectively to targets and be driven to succeed within a sales environment.
