The Opportunity:

You would be trained to build and run a marketing campaign from beginning to end, including:

  • marketing strategy and planning
  • writing effective and convincing copy for social media
  • building relationships with influencers and content creators
  • research and audience development
  • building influencer lists
  • creating social media content
  • curating social media strategies
  • writing advertising briefs
  • project management
  • creative brainstorming

You may also be expected to attend a number of client-related events which could include publishing trade events, networking events, author launches and/or festivals. From the very beginning of the placement we would aim to give you your own responsibilities on your allocated accounts, such as securing influencer coverage, writing social media copy and working on social media audits. You would be expected to work independently to achieve results, as well as supporting the teams you are working with.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required

Essential:

  • Demonstrable passion for books, culture and the wider arts
  • An interest in and knowledge of social media/digital marketing/communications
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • A creative eye
  • Thriving in a busy environment, you’ll be an enthusiastic team player with a can-do attitude.

Desirable:

  • Office experience / marketing / social media
  • Demonstrable professional experience of Microsoft Office, Adobe, Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, and a variety of social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok and Facebook

Essential Information

  • Place of work – Central London
  • Full address of placement – Penway Place, 2A Charing Cross Road, London, WC2H 0HF (nearest tubes: Leicester Square/Charing Cross)
  • Hours – 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday (30hrs per week)
  • Internship Duration – Three months with opportunity to extend to six months
  • Hourly rate – £13.85
