The Opportunity
We are hiring on behalf of a leading UK manufacturer for an exciting opportunity to establish and lead a brand-new Training Academy. This role offers the chance to build the academy from the ground up, shaping its development while delivering technical training across the UK. You will also play a key role in identifying market opportunities and driving industry knowledge forward.
The Role
This role involves developing, delivering, and managing technical training programmes for both customers and internal teams. Training will be provided both in person and online, with extensive travel required across the UK. You will work closely with Product Managers, the wider Product Team, and the Marketing Team to create engaging and effective training materials.
As the position increasingly incorporates sales and strategic market engagement, proven experience in sales or business development is essential to support commercial growth and strengthen market presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver technical training courses on electrical safety and product application.
- Manage and coordinate the training schedule.
- Conduct technical seminars at customer sites to support product adoption.
- Create digital learning content, including pre-recorded training modules.
- Build strategic partnerships with educational institutions and industry bodies.
- Introduce innovative learning technologies such as e-learning and blended learning solutions.
- Represent the Training Academy at trade fairs, exhibitions, and industry events.
- Conduct risk assessments to ensure a safe and effective training environment.
- Oversee the training budget and maintain high-quality standards.
- Support commercial teams by integrating training with sales and business development efforts.
What We’re Looking For:
- A background in electrical engineering, technical training, or education.
- Experience in designing and delivering training programmes, ideally in a technical or B2B environment.
- Strong sales or business development experience, with a focus on technical or product-based markets.
- A Product Trainer, Senior Engineer with mentoring experience, or an Educational Professional with electrical qualifications would be a great fit.
- Excellent presentation, organisation, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of electrical safety testing and compliance (desirable).
- A full UK driving licence – extensive travel required.
