Midas VFX is looking for talented CG Artists to join our team across a range of high-end film and television projects. We are interested in artists across a variety of disciplines, including Environment Artists, CG Generalists and FX Artists.
Working closely with CG Supervisors, VFX Supervisors and the wider team, you will help create high-quality, cinematic work ranging from subtle invisible effects to large-scale environments, destruction, simulations and complex CG sequences.
- Environment Artists: Creating digital environments, set extensions and matte-painted or fully CG locations.
- CG Generalists: Working across modelling, texturing, look development, lighting and rendering.
- FX Artists: Creating simulations including destruction, smoke, fire, water.
Depending on your area of focus, you will:
- Create high-quality CG work for film and television projects
- Work closely with Supervisors and Leads to deliver shots and sequences to a high standard
- Collaborate with other departments including compositing, production and VFX supervision
- Help solve creative and technical challenges throughout production
- Maintain consistency, quality and efficiency across your work
- Contribute to the development of workflows and pipeline improvements where appropriate
We are looking for artists with:
- Previous experience in VFX, film or episodic television
- Strong skills in one or more CG disciplines
- Experience with relevant software such as Maya, Houdini, Vray, Nuke, Unreal, Substance or Photoshop
- Strong artistic eye and attention to detail
- Good understanding of the wider CG pipeline and how different departments work together
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Environment Artists:
- Strong modelling, texturing and environment assembly skills
- Experience creating realistic digital environments and set extensions
- Understanding of scans, photogrammetry and reference workflows is an advantage
CG Generalists:
- Broad understanding of the CG pipeline
- Comfortable working across multiple disciplines including modelling, lookdev, lighting and rendering
- Ability to adapt to a variety of project requirements
FX Artists:
- Strong experience creating simulations in Houdini or similar software
- Experience with destruction, smoke, fire, water, particles and procedural workflows
- Good understanding of scale, timing and realism
