Salary: 45k DOE, EOT bonus, pension An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supply Planner & Buyer to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing business.
This is an ideal role for a recent graduate or someone in the early stages of their supply chain career who is looking to gain hands-on experience across purchasing, planning, supplier management, and stock control.
Working as part of a busy Supply Chain team, you will play a key role in ensuring products, raw materials, and packaging are available to support production while building strong relationships with suppliers both in the UK and overseas.
The Role This is a varied position where no two days are the same.
Responsibilities will include
- Raising and managing purchase orders for raw materials, packaging, and finished products.
- Managing supplier relationships across the UK and internationally.
- Chasing suppliers to ensure products and packaging are delivered on time.
- Liaising with overseas suppliers regarding production schedules, shipping updates, and delivery times.
- Monitoring stock levels and identifying potential shortages or overstock situations.
- Supporting supply planning to ensure customer demand is met.
- Managing supplier contracts, pricing agreements, and purchasing documentation.
- Coordinating with logistics providers and freight forwarders where required.
- Working closely with Production, Warehouse, Sales, and Customer Service teams to ensure continuity of supply.
- Maintaining accurate purchasing and inventory records within the ERP system.
- Producing reports and analysing stock and supplier performance.
- Supporting continuous improvements across the supply chain function.
The Person We're looking for an organised, driven, and ambitious individual who is keen to build a long-term career within Supply Chain and Procurement.
You will ideally have
- A degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Food Manufacturing, Procurement, Business, or a related discipline, or previous experience in a similar role.
- Experience or knowledge of supply chain, purchasing, planning, stock control, or food manufacturing.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to deal with suppliers both in the UK and overseas.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
