The opportunity We are recruiting an Area Sales Manager for an established manufacturer of professional catering equipment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven, personable sales professional with experience in the catering, hospitality or foodservice sector.
You will manage an established territory, developing existing accounts by identifying opportunities to introduce additional products and grow overall sales.
The role involves working closely with catering-equipment dealers, developing accounts and providing practical product demonstrations, helping customers understand how the equipment can improve their operations.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and develop relationships with existing accounts
- Identify opportunities to increase account value
- Introduce customers to additional products across the equipment range
- Conduct professional, engaging product demonstrations
- Support accounts with customer meetings, demonstrations and sales activity
- Develop a strong understanding of customers’ operational requirements
- Work towards agreed sales targets and performance KPIs
- Plan and manage a large geographical territory effectively
- Provide regular updates on activity, opportunities and market developments The ideal candidate
- Experience selling into the hospitality, catering or foodservice sectors.
- A thorough understanding of commercial kitchen operations, particularly back-of-house food preparation.
- A background as a Head Chef, Chef, Catering Manager or other operational foodservice professional who has successfully transitioned into sales, or previous experience working for a manufacturer or distributor in a foodservice environment.
- Experience managing an established sales territory while developing new business opportunities.
- Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation skills and the ability to influence purchasing decisions across multiple stakeholder groups.
