A leading UK-based manufacturer and assembler of power distribution switchgear solutions, serving clients across utilities, infrastructure, commercial, and industrial sectors. Due to company growth, they are looking for a skilled Tendering Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team and support their commercial and technical bidding operations.
As a Tendering Manager, you will be responsible for a small team, who are preparing detailed and competitive technical and commercial proposals for low and medium voltage switchgear projects. You will work closely with internal engineering, sales, and project management teams to develop bids that meet customer requirements and industry standards. Updating company software to record and update quotations.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and manage tenders and quotations for LV/MV switchgear and associated equipment
- Interpret technical specifications, drawings, and scope documents to develop accurate proposals
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to gather all necessary information for tenders
- Perform cost analysis and ensure commercial viability of each tender
- Ensure all proposals comply with relevant regulations, standards, and client requirements
- Support post-tender negotiations and handover to project delivery teams
The ideal applicant should have a background in Tender Engineering with knowledge of the LV Switchgear industry, but consideration will be given to ex-field engineers from an install or maintenance perspective of power distribution products, or from assembly manufacturers or technical support from electrical wholesalers. Excellent communication and organisational skills are required, as well as building successful customer relationships.
