Our client is an established international organisation with operations across the UK and Europe. Renowned for its high-quality products and supportive, collaborative culture, they are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join their head office finance team, providing direct support to the Finance Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical and Excel skills who is looking to develop their management accounting career within a growing international business.

Management Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts for multiple group entities, supporting the delivery of timely and insightful financial reporting.
  • Analyse, manipulate and interpret financial data, producing reports, schedules and commentary to support business decision-making.
  • Prepare month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Reconcile and manage key funding and financing arrangements, ensuring robust financial control and accuracy.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Monitor and report on stock movements across the group, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Oversee the bank, treasury, purchase ledger and company credit card functions, including the reconciliation of multiple multi-currency bank accounts, while providing hands-on support where required.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a small finance team, ensuring high standards of accuracy, efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Process monthly payroll and maintain accurate employee and payroll records.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate financial processes, enhancing efficiency and strengthening financial controls.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to colleagues across the wider business, building strong cross-functional relationships.

Management Accountant Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience within finance or accounting, whether as an Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant ready to step up.
  • Or currently working as an Assistant Finance Manager or Management Accountant.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and the preparation of management accounts.
  • Highly numerate and analytical, with exceptional attention to detail and organisation skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including confident use of formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data manipulation.
  • Excellent communication skills, personable and able to build effective relationships at all levels across the wider group.
