Reporting to the Financial Controller, this friendly accounts team is looking for immediate support from an Accounts Payable Assistant. Offered on a temporary basis, with the potential of becoming permanent, they're in need of someone who can step in straightaway and hit the ground running.

Accounts Payable Responsibilities:

  • Process incoming invoices and ensure they align with agreements and contracts
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve issues and rectify invoice discrepancies
  • Handle incoming suppliers' queries and keep on top of the team inbox
  • Prepare payment lists and make payments in line with agreements
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date accounts payable records
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Collaborate with the wider finance team to ensure all processes run smoothly

Accounts Payable Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or a similar finance role
  • A degree in finance would be desirable, as would accounting qualifications such as AAT
  • Possesses a good understanding of VAT and invoicing
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient in Excel and accounting software
  • Demonstrates a keen eye for detail and is able to work with accuracy
  • Natural team player who works well as part of a team and has the initiative to work independently
