Key Account Manager Responsibilities:
- Curate and implement long-term sales strategies and plans that align with the company's overall growth plans and its customers' needs
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline, identifying and converting opportunities and enhancing profitability in line with account growth targets and strategies
- Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with customers by maintaining regular contact and leading regular account reviews
- Manage all day-to-day customer activity, including quotations, contract negotiations, and query handling
- Oversee various projects, liaising internally to ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to customer expectations
- Provide customers with regular project updates to keep them informed and aware of any issues or risks
- Undertake market and competitor analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and new business opportunities
- Successfully generate and develop new business leads by nurturing relationships with prospective customers
Key Account Manager Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in an account management role, selling automotive components
- Exceptional commercial and sales skills, with experience across the full sales cycle, from strategy development and implementation, to relationship management, to business development and everything in between
- Skilled in creating and delivering effective sales and growth strategies
- Analytically minded, able to compile and interpret data to inform decisions and strategies
- Takes a customer-first approach, loves getting under the skin of a customer, understanding their needs and challenges to provide tailored solutions
- Commercially aware, with an understanding of margin, profitability, and account performance
- Superb communication skills and naturally engaging, confident liaising at all levels and fostering long-term relationships
