Here at the Mid Yorkshire Trust, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Support Worker to become a key member within our CT department at Radiology. We seek someone with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, committed to continuous self-improvement and supporting the development of others in our department. The successful candidate will demonstrate good team membership skills, diplomatic handling of sensitive situations involving patients or staff, punctuality, and the ability to follow instructions accurately. Our service is challenging and fast-paced. We require someone confident, professional, and motivational, who can uphold our trust values and deliver excellent care. Our CT service covers three hospital sites: Pontefract, Pinderfields, and Dewsbury, as well as a newly installed Community Diagnostic Centre in Wakefield. The role involves night shifts, extended days, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, with core hours primarily Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. The Mid Yorkshire Trust offers excellent travel links to Leeds, Sheffield, Doncaster, and Bradford, near the M1 and M62 motorways.
Main Duties:
- Deliver high-quality service within Radiology as part of a team.
- Support departmental targets through administrative duties, ensuring compliance with SOPs.
- Undertake administrative and patient care duties, rotating across functions.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient, staff, and service information, respecting Data Protection Act 1998 standards.
Key Requirements:
- Maintain a professional appearance per Trust dress code.
- Uphold Trust values and behaviours, behaving responsibly to maintain public confidence.
- Build professional, courteous relationships, respecting diversity and equality.
- Protect patient dignity and privacy, adhering to uniform and confidentiality policies.
- Undertake annual appraisal.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Assist radiologists, radiographers, and staff to provide efficient services.
- Follow moving and handling policies to ensure patient safety.
- Help patients dress/undress and position them appropriately.
- Observe and record patient observations, reporting concerns.
- Provide patient care, comfort, and act as a chaperone when needed.
- Assist with interventional procedures and prepare examination rooms.
- Follow infection control policies and assist in administering contrast agents after training.
- Work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
