About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Electronic Design Engineer to join a dynamic and innovative engineering team based in Shaftesbury, Dorset. This is a hands-on, on-site role suited to an engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys seeing their designs come to life in real-world applications.

You will play a key role in the full product development lifecycle, from concept through to production, delivering high-performance electronic solutions for commercial and industrial use.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop analogue and digital electronic circuits.
  • Produce and maintain detailed design documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, and production teams to bring products from concept to manufacture.
  • Prototype, test, and debug hardware, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement and provide input on existing products.
  • Keep up to date with the latest technologies and best practices in electronic design.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in electronic hardware design (analogue and digital).
  • Proficient in PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar.
  • Experience working with microcontrollers and embedded systems.
  • Solid understanding of communication protocols like I2C, SPI, UART.
  • Experience with EMC compliance and design for manufacture.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator and team player.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with embedded firmware development (C/C++).
