Are you enthusiastic about plants and gardening, and enjoy providing excellent customer service? We are looking for a Garden Centre General Assistant to join our team in Maghera. We are seeking hard-working, reliable individuals to help us deliver an exceptional experience to our customers. This is a busy and varied role primarily focused on our plants department. You’ll be supporting customers, maintaining stock, and ensuring the plant area is always presented to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Providing friendly and knowledgeable advice to customers about plants, gardening products, and care
- Receiving deliveries, checking stock, and replenishing displays
- Maintaining the visual presentation of the plant department, including watering, pruning, and re-potting as needed
- Assisting customers with plant selection and helping carry and load plants into vehicles
- Operating the tills and handling transactions accurately (if required)
- Supporting colleagues with all aspects of the plant department as needed
- Delivery driving duties at busy times to provide relief and cover main driver days off
Skills and Qualifications
- Passionate about plants, gardening, and retail
- Able to deliver outstanding customer service with a positive, can-do attitude
- A flexible team player who can assist across the centre when needed
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Organised, with good attention to detail
- Full UK licence with clean record
