We have a fast growing online business selling mostly outdoor furniture and seasonal garden and homeware products. We are looking for a Van Driver and Store Person who will have the dual responsibility of safely transporting goods using a company vehicle while maintaining warehouse stock.
Key duties include:
- Loading/unloading
- Multi-drop deliveries
- Processing customer orders
- Performing vehicle checks
- Maintaining accurate inventory records
You will act as the vital link between our storage facility and our customers. A valid UK driving license and physical fitness are essential. Our online business is also part of a successful garden centre so the successful candidate will be able to deploy to the garden centre as required.
Responsibilities:
- Driving and Delivery: Conducting daily, multi-drop deliveries, planning efficient routes, and ensuring customer orders are delivered safely and on time.
- Store/Warehouse Duties: Loading and unloading vehicles, picking/packing orders, inventory counting, and organising stock.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Performing pre-drive safety checks (oil, water, tyres), maintaining cleanliness, and reporting faults.
- Documentation: Completing delivery notes, obtaining customer signatures, and managing stock in/out documentation.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhering to Health & Safety regulations, wearing PPE, and complying with road traffic laws.
- Housekeeping: Keeping the stores environment tidy, safe, and organised for efficient operation.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Licence: A valid UK driving license is essential.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- IT Literacy: Basic computer skills are often needed for inventory software and navigation apps.
- Optional/Desirable: Forklift license (Counterbalance or Reach truck) is often beneficial.
