Your Role And Responsibilities
As a valued member of the District Management team within Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service Response, you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating and managing a wide and varied range of response command needs.
- Assisting management, administrative, budgetary, and day-to-day needs for the efficient running of the district wholetime and on-call fire stations.
- Providing full business (Fire) support to the District and Deputy District Commanders as required.
- Engaging in tasks such as providing financial reports on the SCC Oracle system, routine administrative duties in reporting on operational availability, and processing contractual change requirements.
You are required to work three days in-person at Bury St Edmunds Fire Station, with two hybrid days from a preferred location.
You will need
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in software platforms such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and the ability to onboard to SCC software systems and cloud-based IT systems.
- Transferable skills and experience in administration.
- Efficient time and workload management.
- Flexibility to occasionally support retained fire stations on their training evenings, which may fall outside of core hours.
- A desire to develop, innovate, and offer creative solutions for better service delivery.

The SFRS West District Management team is a small but united team that oversees the leadership and management of firefighters and the fire stations within the West Suffolk area. In this district, we managed 12 fire stations, including 3 Wholetime stations and 12 retained stations.
