Role Description
This full‑time Support Worker role is on‑site and based in Dundee.
The Support Worker will provide person‑centred support to adults and older people, assisting with daily activities, social interaction, and participation in group programmes.
Responsibilities include promoting independence, supporting individuals with mobility and personal care as required, and helping to create a safe, welcoming environment.
The role involves communicating effectively with service users, carers, and colleagues, documenting relevant information, and following care plans and safeguarding procedures.
The Support Worker will also contribute to planning activities, assisting with meal times, and working as part of a small team to deliver high‑quality care and support.
Qualifications
- Experience in support worker or social care roles and a strong commitment to person‑centred support.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication abilities to build trust and rapport with adults and older people.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and ability to follow relevant policies and procedures.
- Basic technical support skills, including the ability to use care recording systems and communicate via email and other digital tools.
- Relevant social care qualifications (e. g., SVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent) or willingness to work towards them.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small team, use initiative, and maintain professional boundaries.
- Understanding of issues related to social isolation, ageing, and carer support; previous experience in a day care or community setting is an advantage.
- Right to work in the UK and ability to meet any necessary background checks appropriate for working with vulnerable adults.
- Must have a valid driving licence and access to an own car.
