Description:

Coordinate the delivery of designated study programmes across the College, including high‑quality teaching, managing day‑to‑day operational matters, supporting exam invigilation and registration as required and ensuring a consistent approach across both sites where required. Inspire and motivate students through outstanding teaching and learning, encouraging them to stretch, challenge themselves, and achieve their full potential. Lecturers should demonstrate a genuine passion for their subject area and a strong commitment to developing students’ English, Maths, and broader employability skills. Regular target setting and progress monitoring will underpin all activities, ensuring that every student is supported to achieve successful outcomes. This role is for 30 hours per week 52 weeks per year.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Deliver high‑quality teaching in line with College and awarding body standards.
  • Plan and prepare lessons and schemes of work, assess student progress, provide feedback, maintain accurate records and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment that meets safeguarding, equality, and health & safety requirements.
  • Support the day‑to‑day delivery of courses, including managing communication, student attendance and punctuality, lesson cover, internal verification scheduling, enrichment activities and liaison with departments such as Exams, MIS and ALS to ensure smooth and consistent operations across campuses.
  • Assist with the recruitment, selection and enrolment of students, ensuring correct course placement, managing transfers and late enrolments and contributing to the organisation and delivery of induction programmes.
  • Provide 1‑1 support to individual students as required, provide UCAS and pastoral support and liaise with support services where needed.
  • Monitor and report on attendance, progress and achievement.
  • Ensure timely completion of registers, track student performance and implement action plans where necessary.
  • Promote and support English and Maths provision within lessons and through targeted support, including monitoring attendance and progress in these areas.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings, parents’ evenings, marketing events and internal/external meetings as required.
  • Support the planning and coordination of key events.
  • Work with colleagues to develop curriculum content and teaching strategies.
  • Engage in CPD and peer observations and mentor new lecturers where appropriate.
  • Complete course‑related admin, including register keeping, updating ProMonitor, utilising reports and maintaining resources on the College’s VLE.
  • Take part in quality assurance processes including moderation, verification, course reviews and the Self‑Assessment Review (SAR), supporting continuous improvement.
  • Lead on internal verification and standardisation.
  • Monitor and act on SAR and quality improvement actions.
  • Assist with daily staffing coordination and resource planning.
  • Ensure timely completion of any UCAS references, and liaise with HE institutions as required.
  • Engage with parents of any students under 18 as required, including attending parent evenings, contributing to reports, and attendance reporting as appropriate.
