Are you a qualified LGV / HGV driver looking to build your experience? Are you an experienced HGV Driver, or perhaps a newly qualified driver looking to join a team working towards making a positive impact on our environment? We have an opportunity for a Full Time Refuse Driver/Loader to join the team at Hitchcocks Business Park, Willand, our established waste and recycling depot.
Responsibilities
- As an ambassador for Mid Devon District Council, you will drive and operate the vehicles used to collect household waste and recycling from our residents and customers.
- With a positive attitude, you will also ensure that our health and safety regulations and working procedures are always followed, providing an excellent and efficient service for the people of Mid Devon.
- To lead the crew to collect recycling and/or refuse from households, trade premises and other locations in Mid Devon within a round (ensuring no collections are missed).
- To drive LGV Category C and non-LGV vehicle when required.
- To undertake daily vehicle checks.
- To maintain safe working practices.
What you’ll need to apply
- Essential: LGV Class 2 license and Driver CPC card.
- Demonstrate a passion for maintaining professional driving standards along with good communication skills and a willingness to be part of a successful hardworking team delivering a high level of service.
- You will be working as part of a team and therefore willing to help load.
- Desirable: Experience working in the waste industry. Working with Stillage Vehicles – Kerbside Loaders and RCV. Tacho Card.
