As a Street Cleansing Operative your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining and emptying litter bins, dog bins, manual sweeping, the disposal and removal of waste and detritus and fly tipping.
- Contribute to the performance of the team, ensuring we maintain a high standard of service and support the Team Leader in making sure the team offers a customer focused service to help achieve continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery.
- Act as an ambassador for the Council by being professional, courteous and helpful.
- To ensure; health and safety, safe systems of work, standards, processes and housekeeping are adhered to through regular checking and cleaning of equipment and working sites.
- Undertake any other comparable duties within the service commensurate with the grading of the post to include and not limited to; assisting with Waste and the Grounds Maintenance Team.

About you:
- Ability to interpret work instruction and deliver/complete tasks to the appropriate standards
- Willing and able to work outside normal working hours, which may include weekends where required
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weathers
- General knowledge of the district, as well as an understanding of street cleansing services would be advantageous, but is not essential
- Hold a full manual driving licence (B licence)
A satisfactory basic disclosure check and three years complete employment history will be requested in the event of you being offered the position.
