We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual who would like to work in our busy Public Health and Housing Options Service. The post will cover all aspects of the work of the public health team and the service has a wide remit, covering housing options, private sector housing, renters rights, food safety and community protection. This varied role involves core business and technical support to our front-line teams, and you will be at the heart of what we do.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with officers in dealing with customers and other agencies, allocate and triage service requests, and provide the full range of other business support as required.
- Serve as a key point of contact for the teams, ensuring smooth communication and coordination.
- Prioritise effectively and manage data, information and business processes with strong attention to detail.
- Deliver excellent services and maintain effective relationships with officers, members and other key stakeholders/partners through good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Handle sometimes challenging or difficult situations and work effectively with other authorities and agencies.
- Support career development opportunities within the Public Health and Housing Options Service, with the potential to step into a career in environmental health.
Qualifications
- Hold or be working towards a relevant qualification, e.g. Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration/Customer Services.
- Have recent customer-services experience in a similar role, with proven business-support skills, ideally in a statutory or regulatory environment.
- Possess a full driving licence and own transport.
- Have computer literacy and a working knowledge of IDOX Uniform, Integrator and Orchard Software (training can be provided).
- Be prepared to undergo a satisfactory basic disclosure check and provide a complete three-year employment history if offered the position.
