We have an opportunity for a Full Time Democratic Services Officer to join the Democratic Services team at Phoenix House, Tiverton

As a Democratic Services Officer your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Establishing strong working relationships with councillors, senior officers and other key stakeholders;
- Deal calmly with pressure and competing demands;
- Assist the Democratic Services Manager ensuring that the Modern.Gov system is accurately updated and managed and liaise with the software providers;
- Assist the Democratic Services Manager in the maintenance and development of relevant administrative procedures, practices and documents held by Democratic Services, such as the Constitution, procedure documents, training manuals and the Members yearbook;

About you:
- Demonstrable experience of committee administration and clerking meetings
- Sound knowledge of the political process and issues facing local government
- The ability to work within a political and Local Government framework and be sensitive to political issues.
- Comprehends corporate risks and exercises judgement whilst navigating matters which may prove extremely sensitive
