We have an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and motivated Dermatology admin team. We are looking for an experienced Medical Secretary who will be working with our dedicated team of Consultants, Nurse specialists and other clinical team members. We are keen to hear from applicants who can demonstrate their organisational skills and who can work on their own initiative.
Responsibilities
- Provide a wide range of medical secretarial and admin duties, including medical audio typing, diary management and monitoring of Departmental/Trust targets such as Letter turnaround times and RTT.
- Manage cashing up of clinics ensuring patients are added to the correct waiting list and pathway updated correctly.
- Handle patient calls and emails, and liaise with medical professionals.
- Prepare bags/documentations for sample collections.
- Action urgent cancer referrals and ensure timely typing.
- Support wider team and management.
- Ensure 2WW referrals typed in a timely manner.
- Completing tasks and emails.
- Answer queries via telephone/email.
- Monitor target adherence including Letter turnaround times, RTT and 2WW pathway.
- Cope with interruptions, maintain focus and manage conflicting priorities.
Qualifications
- Evidence of good communication skills both verbal and non-verbal.
- Excellent administrative and IT skills.
- Audio typing experience to a high standard.
- Understanding of Medical Terminology.
