This role is a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship, perfect for someone who is organised, enjoys working with people, and wants to start a career in Recruitment, HR, Workforce, Communications, or Education. As an Early Careers Apprentice, you’ll help run our work experience programmes, support other Apprentices across the Trust, and build links with local schools and colleges. You’ll get involved in everything from planning events and updating our website to supporting students on placement and helping promote NHS careers. After successful completion of all aspects of the apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to progress to an Early Careers Advisor role. The current salary for this post is £28,392.

Responsibilities

  • Work Experience and Observation Placements
  • Develop a yearly calendar of programmes
  • Update the Trust website, internal and external communications, and social media posts to promote programmes
  • Book relevant facilities and staff to support delivery of programmes
  • Undertake all candidate communication in relation to the work experience programmes
  • Monitor responses and create lists of attendees for all programmes
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Keep up‑to‑date programme details and update the handbook
  • Undertake and keep accurate records in relation to screening compliance checks, including declarations and occupational health declarations
  • Keep risk assessments up‑to‑date
  • Keep induction documents up‑to‑date and relevant
  • Plan and coordinate all face‑to‑face placements
  • Send out certificates and evaluations for all programmes
  • Collate monitoring data
  • Produce a yearly report on work experience delivery
  • Coordinate ad‑hoc observation placements
  • Update and maintain all databases linked to work experience
  • Create a work experience alumni/champions group to promote work experience in their school/college and provide case studies
  • Early Careers Attraction Activities
    • Create and maintain a yearly plan of activity for school/college events
    • Sourcing volunteers from across the Trust to support
    • Attend events when required
    • Develop a standard set of equipment/resources to use at career events and coordinate cost/budget/purchase orders
    • Project work – develop and update career information pages on the Trust’s website
    • Co‑ordinate regular social media activity to promote career information
  • Apprenticeship Activity
    • Update Trust databases (ESR) with all apprenticeship information to ensure accurate records are maintained
    • Maintain and update a non‑clinical apprentice database to clearly show start/finish dates, line manager, training provider, apprenticeship status, review dates
    • Create and update apprentice information page on the Trust’s website
    • Create an internal network of apprentices and produce case studies
    • Plan and coordinate the yearly National Apprenticeship Week to raise awareness of apprenticeships across the Trust
    • Co‑ordinate apprentice workshops by booking facilities and equipment as required
