Our Hospital Bank offers experienced CSWs the opportunity to work flexibly across Mid Cheshire Hospitals, delivering high-quality patient care while choosing shifts that fit around your life. Youโ€™ll work within familiar NHS systems and teams, with the added benefit of variety, development and reliable access to work.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced CSWs who want to reduce reliance on agency work, develop portfolio careers, or explore whether a future substantive role within the Trust is right for them.

Why choose our Hospital Bank?

  • Flexible shifts you choose, booked directly with the Trust
  • NHS Bank rates, paid reliably and on time
  • Consistent demand for key shift patterns, offering regular access to work
  • Exposure to a wide range of wards and specialties, supporting professional development
  • A clear stepping stone into substantive roles within the Trust, should you wish to progress

We particularly welcome applications from experienced CSWs currently working via agencies, returners to NHS practice, and substantive staff from other Trusts interested in flexible or portfolio working.

Shift availability

To support safe staffing across the Trust, we are currently seeking Bank Clinical Support Workers who are able to work the following high-demand shifts:

  • Early shift: 07:30 โ€“ 13:30
  • Late shift: 14:00 โ€“ 20:00
  • Long day: 07:30 โ€“ 20:00

These shift patterns are consistently in demand, meaning reliable access to shifts for Bank workers who are able to support them. They are particularly well suited to those looking for shorter working days, defined hours, or regular, more predictable Bank work. We would especially welcome applicants able to offer regular availability for one or more of these shift patterns.

Working requirements

To join the Hospital Bank, you must have previous experience in an NHS healthcare role and hold the Care Certificate or an equivalent recognised healthcare qualification. We are unable to accept applicants without prior NHS healthcare experience. Bank work is offered on a casual basis with no guaranteed hours and does not meet UKVI requirements for employment sponsorship.

Main duties of the job

As an experienced Clinical Support Worker, you will be confident in delivering high-quality personal care to patients who may be acutely unwell, ensuring dignity, respect and compassion at all times. You will communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team, and adapt quickly to different clinical environments and ward routines.

Our Hospital Bank operates as an internal staffing service, providing cover for ad-hoc and short-notice shifts across the hospital. This requires professionalism, flexibility and the ability to integrate quickly into different teams. All Bank workers must complete statutory and mandatory training prior to commencing shifts. Training will be provided by Mid Cheshire Hospitals.
