Do you have an interest in ophthalmology? An exciting part-time post has arisen in the Eye Care Centre. Ophthalmic outpatients is a busy department, caring for a wide range of conditions and reviewing approximately 4,000 patients each month between clinics at Leighton Hospital and Northwich Infirmary. Occasional rotation to the Northwich site will be required.

Any staff nurse working within the Eye Care Centre will gain a wide range of experience, for example, overseeing different specialty clinics, carrying out vision testing, running children’s clinics, assisting practitioners with intravitreal injections using aseptic techniques, and telephone preoperative clinics.

An experienced healthcare professional competent in all aspects of care planning, able to carry out a wide range of clinical skills, including areas of specialist clinical expertise and advice within the team (e.g. infection control), by working collaboratively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.

The post holder will take an active part in the leadership, education, development and supervision of the team.
