Our Renal Haemodialysis team are looking for a Healthcare Support Worker to join our Care Team, assisting our qualified staff in delivering a caring and effective, patient focussed service in keeping with the aims, objectives and standards of the Trust
You will assist with the maintenance of a safe care environment including preparing for/ carrying out dialysis / discontinuing dialysis and cleaning machine and area post paying particular adherence to infection control and safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff under the guidance of qualified staff, ensuring sensitive and appropriate clinical care is delivered to meet individuals’ needs, respecting personal dignity and beliefs.
** If no Haemodialysis Experience, candidate will start as band 2 and on completion of Renal and generic competancy will be changed to Band 3 as the post is established as band 3.
The renal department is operational from 7:00 am -12pm Monday to Saturday.

Effective communication is maintained within care team and between other care teams, patients, relatives and visitors.
Main duties of the job, In your role you will become trained in broad renal nursing aspects and develop an existing knowledge at NVQ 3 level (General or Renal), with the full support and guidance from our dedicated Senior Nurses and Consultant Physicians.
Your training will be delivered in conjunction with active on the job working within the renal unit, including some ring fenced time for classroom learning and a committed mentor will support your training and development.
Your role will be to ensure information is handled and exchanged with care, accuracy and sensitivity, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times and that effective communication is maintained within care team and between other care teams, patients, relatives and visitors., We work together, and in conjunction with MSE Health and Care Partnership, to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients in a compassionate way, and provide a respectful, but vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.
