Overview
What You\’ll Do
- Operate on a shift system plus on-call, responding to breakdowns and job requests both day and night
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and in-depth fault-finding on generators, fire alarms, lighting and power, distribution boards, boilers, air-handling units, chiller plant, medical gas systems, calorifiers and hot & cold-water networks
- Perform installations and refurbishments of building fabrications
- Evaluate and respond effectively to emergency situations, prioritising safety for patients, staff and the public
- Conduct and document your own risk assessments for medium and high-risk tasks
- Ensure strict compliance with Trust policies, statutory standards and health & safety legislation

Join our Estates Engineering Team and play a pivotal role keeping our Trust\’s critical services running 24/7. You\’ll work on a shift rota with on-call duties, tackling Planned Preventative Maintenance, emergency breakdowns and installations across multiple sites.
What You\’ll Bring
- Recognised Electrical or Mechanical Technician qualification
- Significant practical experience working independently on a broad range of estates plant and systems
- Proven ability to escalate serious issues to management when required
- Excellent technical knowledge of specifications, drawings and manuals
- Flexibility to travel across multiple Trust sites in your own/ Trust vehicle
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise under pressure
- Commitment to health, safety and high-quality workmanship
