Mid Essex Hospitals NHS trust is looking for enthusiastic applicants for the post of Trust Clinical Fellow in Medicine.
We will offer you development opportunities for you to gain experience and further exposure to General Internal Medicine.
Our aim is to build upon on your existing basic and specialty training while supporting our key service areas in relation to the provision of in and out of hours clinical care by a trained doctor workforce and this roleoffers excellent opportunities to work innovatively withina highly motivated team with excellent support for your development.
Main duties of the job
You will be offered experience in General medicine and exposure to medical specialities at different levels [Hospital, Accident and Emergency, Acute Medicine and an Intermediate care setting], you will also be able to contribute to the acute medical take at a SHO level and we are happy to accommodate any extra/additional speciality experience required by the candidate i.e. placements in other medical specialities within Medicine.
You will work on any wards in Medicine and Acute Medicine. You may rotate between acute frailty and the longer stay wards. You will also gain experience in an ambulatory unit. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team under Consultant supervision with a team of doctors of varying levels. You will be involved in the unselected medical take (general and geriatric medicine)
This is a post is to join a dynamic10 consultant team with 2 Physicians Associates. TheElderly CareService consists of4 Care of Elderly wards plus a 7 day Consultant ledFrailty Unit with 16 beds and 4 ambulatory trolleys.
You should therefore expect, in addition to gaining specialty ward based and clinic/procedural experience and development, to contribute to our on call medical receiving rotas.
