An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our well-established MDT Co-ordinator team at Mid Essex Hospitals NHS Trust. Working with our existing MDT Co-ordinators we are looking to add to our existing team to provide full support in all aspects of this role and to provide MDT Co-ordinator cover across all tumour groups.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full support in all aspects of this role and to provide MDT Co-ordinator cover across all tumour groups.
  • Collect and input data.
  • Facilitate MDT meetings and track patients referred to the Trust with a suspected and confirmed cancer diagnosis.
  • Work closely with Clinical Nurse Specialists and the Multi‑Disciplinary Teams within a specialty as well as the rest of the Cancer Services Team.
  • Support the implementation of the NHS Cancer Plan by providing dedicated and effective administrative support to multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Facilitate the smooth running of regular MDT meetings by preparing all documentation and room requirements, attending and documenting discussion outcomes and ensuring these outcomes are available to clinicians following the meeting.
  • Track cancer patient pathways to ensure that patient records are accurate.
  • Manage the tumour site specific PTL proformas to ensure data is captured and reflected accurately for weekly PTL meetings.
  • Provide cross‑cover for MDT meetings as required by the Cancer Waiting Times Manager in periods of sickness, annual leave and any other absences.
  • Work with the Cancer Services team, who will lead on pathway and process development to ensure accurate and complete data is recorded for all cancer patients.
  • Maintain a close relationship with the Cancer Waiting List Manager to ensure all patient pathways are actively monitored to prevent patients breaching their Cancer Waiting Time Targets.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
