OPPORTUNITY

Looking to start your career in CNC Machining in a dynamic and growing business? We’re now offering an outstanding CNC APPRENTICE opportunity within our Production Team. Taking around 3.5–4 years to complete, you’ll be supported by our knowledgeable, friendly Machine Shop team as you learn practical skills and complete a recognised apprenticeship and qualifications. The aim is that at the end, you’ll be a permanent team member. 80% of your time will be spent at site and 20% at college.

Your Practical Responsibilities Will Include

  • Assisting and observing other Machine Shop team members, following policies and instructions to develop knowledge and hands-on experience.
  • Cutting & shaping metals, using a variety of CNC machines.
  • Following instructions, drawings and procedures to machine and manufacture required parts.
  • Performing proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories.
  • Completing machine warm-up.
  • Inspecting parts left within the machine.
  • Maintenance & pre-start checks.
  • Completion of agreed tasks in line with the weekly plan up to and including “lights out.”
  • Checking first off on floor.

As An Apprentice, You’re Also Committed To

  • Attending college and completing all of your apprenticeship requirements.
  • Proactively participating in regular progress reviews with BSC & the training provider.

To Be Successful You Have

  • 4 GCSE Math and English Grade A-C.
  • Positive about learning and committed to completing all aspects of the apprenticeship.
  • Confident to ask questions for clarification and interest, or to put forward suggestions.
  • Good attendance and timekeeping.
  • Able to consistently follow instructions, processes and procedures.
