We are seeking a Production Operative to join an electronics manufacturing team in Southampton. The role involves assembling, inspecting and reworking PCB and cable assemblies. Previous electronics assembly experience and strong attention to detail are essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assembling conventional and SMT circuit boards to specifications and quality standards
- Carrying out fault finding, rework and repair of assemblies where required
- Completing cable and wiring assemblies using soldering and crimping techniques
- Building finished products and sub-assemblies from technical drawings and work instructions
- Performing in-process inspections and maintaining accurate production records
- Reading and interpreting production documentation, wiring information and technical drawings
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality and ESD requirements
- Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient work area
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within an electronics manufacturing or assembly environment
- Experience with PCB assembly, soldering, crimping and cable/wiring assembly
- Ability to read and follow technical documentation and assembly instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Good manual dexterity and ability to work with small electronic components
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, organised and able to meet production deadlines
Desirable
- IPC soldering certification or similar electronics assembly training
- Experience working to IPC, J-STD or similar industry standards
- Knowledge of ESD controls, inspection processes, Lean Manufacturing or 5S methodologies
